The "Well-Being Gathering," organized for guidance counselors in collaboration with the Narlıdere Sıdıka Akdemir Counseling and Research Center (RAM), was successfully held on June 16. Aimed at supporting counselors' well-being and strengthening professional solidarity, the event consisted of two main parts. Following the morning sessions, which were open to internal university attendance, the afternoon sessions were conducted with the participation of pre-registered counselors working under RAM. Providing attendees with an opportunity to enhance both their professional and personal awareness, the event concluded with messages of mutual empowerment.

We have successfully held our poster exhibition, where our Psychology Department students presented the research projects they prepared as part of their Independent Study course.

During the exhibition, our students had the opportunity to share their research on a wide range of topics and present their findings to the visitors.

We congratulate all our students and their academic advisors who contributed to this valuable event, and we extend our gratitude to everyone involved in the organization.

The results of the “2209-A Research Project Support Programme for Undergraduate Students” carried out by TÜBİTAK (BİDEB), were announced on May 13, 2026. 

Two projects from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of English Translation and Interpreting at İzmir University of Economics have been awarded support under the TÜBİTAK 2209-A program.

We are proud of the valuable contributions made by our students and faculty members.

İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi is now a home to FAMILY-Lab, a research laboratory dedicated to studies in family and developmental psychology.

FAMILY-Lab aims to conduct research focusing on parenting, interparental relationships, and adolescent and young adult development, examining how family processes influence adolescents’ and young adults’ psychological, social, and academic adjustment. The laboratory provides a research environment that brings together the subfields of developmental and family psychology and emphasizes theory-driven and empirical research.

Within the scope of the laboratory, potential collaborations with faculty members, joint research projects, and student involvement are considered highly valuable. Actively involving undergraduate and graduate students in research processes and strengthening interdisciplinary interaction are among the core objectives of FAMILY-Lab.

Prof. Dr. Canan Başar, a faculty member of the Department of Psychology at Izmir University of Economics (IUE), has received the 2025 ‘Science Award’, given to only one recipient, presented by the METU Parlar Foundation.

Within the scope of the TÜBİTAK 2209-A Research Projects Support Program for Undergraduate Students, which encourages active participation of university students in scientific research processes, four research projects from our department have been granted support!

The IVth Trauma Symposium, organized by the Turkish Psychological Association İzmir Branch Trauma, Disaster, and Crisis Working Group in collaboration with İzmir University of Economics, was successfully held on December 14-15, 2024, with enthusiastic participation. This year’s symposium centered around the theme of “Contact”, exploring current approaches and practices in the field of trauma.
