Four Awards in Four Categories for Our Department at the Academic Year Opening Ceremony
At the award ceremony held as part of the İzmir University of Economics 2026–2027 Academic Year Opening Ceremony, our department was honored with awards in four different categories for its achievements in research and contributions to the academic world. These achievements by our faculty members brought immense pride to our department and faculty.
Outstanding and High-Impact Research Award
Faculty members of our department, Prof. Dr. Seda Can and Prof. Dr. Seda Dural, were granted the Outstanding and High-Impact Research Award for their high-impact research and high-quality scientific contributions to the field.
Emerging Researcher Award
Our department faculty member, Dr. Ezgi Gür, received the Emerging Researcher Award for her strong research performance demonstrated in a short period and her original contributions to the field.
International Research Collaboration Award
Prof. Dr. Seda Dural and Prof. Dr. Seda Can received their second award at the ceremony, being honored with the International Research Collaboration Award for their projects with international researchers and the academic collaborations they established. We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Dr. Seda Can, who was unable to attend the ceremony, on these achievements.
Outstanding Contribution and Loyalty Award
Our esteemed professor, the late Prof. Dr. Canan Başar Eroğlu, whom we recently lost, was honored with the Outstanding Contribution and Loyalty Award for her valuable contributions to science, our university, and our department. Her sister, Nurcan Kırgız, accepted the award on her behalf. We remember Prof. Dr. Canan Başar Eroğlu with respect, love, and fond remembrance; the scientific legacy she left behind and the values she imparted to her students will continue to illuminate our path.
We congratulate all our faculty members who add value to science and our academic community through their research, and we wish them continued success.
