We Successfully Completed the IVth Trauma Symposium!

The IVth Trauma Symposium, organized by the Turkish Psychological Association İzmir Branch Trauma, Disaster, and Crisis Working Group in collaboration with İzmir University of Economics, was successfully held on December 14-15, 2024, with enthusiastic participation. This year’s symposium centered around the theme of “Contact”, exploring current approaches and practices in the field of trauma.

What Was Discussed at the Symposium?
The two-day program included:

• Post-disaster intervention methods,
• Traumatic losses in children and adolescents,
• Trauma and sexual minorities,
• The impact of trauma on disadvantaged groups, and many other significant topics, which were examined in depth.

Experts in the field of psychology enriched their sessions with case examples, sharing their knowledge and experiences with the participants.

Through conferences, panels, and working groups led by prominent psychologists, the importance of adopting a holistic approach to trauma was once again emphasized.
